Fruit Sparklers made with watermelon stars and blueberries | Tastes Better From ScratchWhen it comes to Fourth of July Parties I've come to learn that people like SIMPLE. I can't tell you how many times I've seen super intense "patriotic" desserts brought to a Fourth of July Party (like those jello salads with a thousand different layers of red, white and blue, that probably took hours to make), and they hardly get eaten.

Simple Pasta Salads, Sugar Cookie Bars, or this easy and delicious Almond Sheet Cake are always devoured, and perfect for serving a crowd. And you can't tell me these Fruit Sparklers wont be a hit, especially if kids are involved! My kids loved helping me make these, and eat them too 🙂

Fruit Sparklers

Ingredients

  • 1 watermelon
  • 10 ounces fresh blueberries
  • Wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Cut watermelon into 1 inch thick slices. Place a small star cookie cutter into the red flesh of the watermelon and lift the star fruit up. Repeat with remaining slices.
  2. Thread a few blueberries onto your wooden skewers--about 6-8 on each. Place the watermelon star on top and set on a serving tray. Enjoy!
